With their science-based approach to healthy hair and a goal to be the leading natural haircare brand of choice we thought it was time to catch up with co-owners Nicky James-Baird and Jodene Fendall to discuss their plans to turn us all into a nation of Holistic Hair lovers!

Holistic Hair was founded on its holistic philosophy and Trichology expertise, using plant-based, sustainable ingredients. It is seen as an industry leader in naturally derived hair care.
The word ‘holistic’ in the brand name was purposely chosen to communicate the core philosophy of the company. The company's focus on holistic health underpins every aspect of the business and product development. Holistic Hair is dedicated to the science and symbiotic relationship of inner health and well-being to outer beauty.
Trichology is the branch of dermatology that deals with the scientific study of the health of the scalp and hair. Trichologists take a holistic approach to helping people with scalp and hair disorders. Understanding the physiology of the scalp and hair has enabled Holistic Hair to be seen as a trusted source for information and advice.
Natural and naturally derived ingredients are core to each of the formulations in the product range. Priority is given to plant-based ingredients, from sustainable resources that are biodegradable and provide beneficial properties to our formulations.

Scalp health is still an important focus for the brand but their range has grown to now comprise three distinct categories.
- Scalp & Hair - shampoos and conditioners which are suitable for an array of scalp conditions and hair types e.g. sensitive, oily, dry scalps and fine, medium, thick, coarse, curly and chemically treated/ coloured hair. Pure Shampoo & Conditioner is a fav!
- Extra Care - specialist products that support scalp and hair conditions. We’re in love with the Herbal Finishing Rinse Concentrate – a leave in rinse for the scalp and hair and the Essential Scalp Spray for encouraging hair growth!
- Styling - products that offer natural alternatives to synthetic styling products in the market.
Holistic Hair design their packaging to be recyclable. This year the brand will start to transition the PET1 bottles into rPET1. rPET1 is created by recycling previously used plastics, including plastic bottles to prevent plastic entering the landfills, oceans or environment. Once collected, it is sorted, cleaned, and transformed into rPET1. rPET1 has a lower carbon footprint than virgin PET and is recyclable, lightweight and easier to transport compared to other packaging like glass. This furthers the brand's sustainability journey and supports a closed loop circular economy.
