Kapiti Store Manager

Are you an experienced retail manager ready to take your next step by working for a values led business? We are looking for a new Store Manager to lead a fantastic team at our Kapiti store, which has been an integral part of the local organic community for decades.

In this role, you’ll:

Wellington City

Naturopath or Retail Health Specialist - Part time (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday)

We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Naturopath to join our team, working primarily within the Health and Beauty department of the store. In this role, you will support customers by providing expert advice on health products, supplements, and nutrition to help them make informed choices.

Ideally, you will hold a qualification in Naturopathy; however, we would also love to hear from candidates who are currently studying Naturopathy and/or Medical Herbalism.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Training in, and a good knowledge of natural health products, nutrition and herbal remedies
  • Providing customers with accurate product and nutritional information 
  • Proactive and friendly customer service
  • Managing stock ordering and stock handling with a high level of accuracy 
  • Creating and maintaining attractive promotional and special displays 
  • Demonstrating initiative, and responsibility within the health department 
  • Supporting the wider store team and assisting wherever needed 

We are looking for a team-oriented individual who is proactive, reliable, and willing to contribute across all areas of the store when required.

Department Supervisor – Full Time

We are looking for an experienced, engaging and customer focused person to join our Wellington City team. This is a full time position and the successful applicant must be available to work Sundays and a mix of open and close shifts.

Core responsibilities will be to:

  • Provide engaging and helpful customer service;
  • Carry out ordering and manage stock;
  • Display stock to ensure a full and appealing range to customers;
  • Carry out general duties normal in a retail environment; and
  • Be part of a friendly and productive team of people, who care about what they do

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience working in retail and customer services
  • Prior experience as a buyer / ordering stock
  •  An eye for detail and visual displays;
  • An energetic and engaging approach to sales and customer service
  • Excellent relationship and communication skills- leadership experience would be ideal

Commonsense Mt Eden is a busy organic retail store catering for people buying organic food, allergy-free food and environmentally friendly products. We are currently looking for casual staff to help support this efficient and friendly team. This role will involve shifts being offered regularly when people are sick or need time off. If you want to learn the ins and outs of a vibrant organic retail store but can't commit to a permanent position this role may be for you!
