#5 Sage Tea
Dried sage + hot water = sage tea. Unglamorous? Yes. But does it soothe a sore throat better than anything else? According to a survey of five of our Head Office staff here at Commonsense: absolutely!
The healing powers of sage are well known: it’s said to be anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and antibacterial. It also creates a pleasant cooling sensation.

#3 Turmeric Latte
Everyone’s favourite golden beverage, the Turmeric Latte is so much more than just a food craze. Turmeric is anti-inflammatory, high in antioxidants and said to support healthy joints and good digestion.
If you’re making your own Turmeric Latte, please remember that it does not contain any actual coffee. Instant + a spoonful of turmeric does NOT make the medicine go down. Trust us! Also: make sure you add a bit of black pepper to your mix, as your body needs a compound called bioperine to access the turmeric goodness. We sell a pre-mix sachet Turmeric Latte sachet from Radiance. The beautiful latte pictured? We drank it at The Midnight Baker, just around the corner from our Mt Eden Store.

#2 Velvet Latte
Are you sick and tired of a limited colour palette of hot beverages? Never fear! Velvet Latte is here to put the KAPOW in back in in your cuppa. Chock-full of Auyerdic spices and beetroot powder, this drink is delicious and devilishly healthy…

#1 Lemon Ginger & Honey
If there was a Beyoncé of winter beverages, this would be it! Who can say no to a Lemon, Honey & Ginger? No one! except the I Quit Sugar brigade. And gold star vegans. Everyone else: make this amazing recipe (with turmeric!) from our very own Lucy Kebbell or buy a bottle of pre-mixed syrup in store if you’re lazy short on time.
For the hot drink connoisseur, the addition of whiskey should be given serious consideration. Hot toddies transform the incomparable into the sublime. Lemon, Ginger & Honey: you are the ultimate hot winter drink. We bow to you.
