Causes we Love: it’s just Commonsense

1 June 2017

Commonsense Organics is founded on values of organics, environment and community. We're proud that every year, at least 10% of our profit goes to supporting initiatives that share our values. We're the primary sponsor of Porirua School Gardens, and our Store Managers also support one-off and regular initiatives at their discretion. Read on to find out more about the causes we love in 2017!

We're proud to have supported Porirua School Gardens for the last four years. We cover most of the costs of the scheme, including the coordinator's salary and the cost of resources and equipment.  Alicia works with teachers and kids to start and maintain the gardens. She also works with volunteers and builds up the pools of volunteers at each school!

The Porirua School Garden Scheme works with five decile one schools:

Alicia and the Porirua School Gardens Scheme are always looking for new volunteers. If you'd like to get your hands dirty, or gift gardening equipment, please contact Alicia on alicia.j.rich@gmail.com
